The proposed course is an introduction to the theory and
practice of experimental economics. Since the ultimate goal is to run a series
of economic experiments, other than surveying the existing experimental evidence,
we shall also focus on methodological, design and software programming issues
.
WHEN
The course is scheduled for the Spring Semester
2001.
COURSE
PREREQUISITES
First year course in Microeconomics.
First year course in Game Theory.
Given these prerequisites, the course will
be self-contained.
COURSE
STRUCTURE
Teaching. Computerized
experiments followed by lectures for a total of 30 hours.
Course Material. We
will use Kagel and Roth (1995), Davis and Holt (1993) and Friedman
and Sunder (1994) as reference manuals. Additional sources will
be made available to course participants as the course proceeds.

Grading. There is no
final exam. To obtain course credits, participants will be required to present
a group seminar and to actively participate to the design, realization, implementation
and analysis of an experiment. More information on the three experimental
