Information for speakers

Before Arrival. Within ten days from your talk, please e-mail us the title and the abstract of the work you are presenting and attach a copy of the paper (preferably as a pdf file).
Seminar. Seminars take about an hour and a half. Speakers commonly talk for about one hour; discussion and open questions from the floor follow.
Hotel. We will book a hotel room for you. Most likely, you will be hosted at Hotel Porta Maris in Alicante downtown. It will take you about 20 minutes to get to the University by taxi

The Department of Economics. There are several entrances to the campus. Make sure the taxi driver drops you off at the entrance close to the highway (say: "Universidad de Alicante; entrada autovia"). As you enter on campus, you will see the Economics building on your right. Go to the top floor ("planta segunda"), room 29. One of our secretaries will give you an office - the secretaries arrive at 9am.
Financial Arrangement. We reimburse travel costs (train, flight, taxi, bus) by direct deposit or check in Spanish Euros. The check can be cashed on campus.
Dinner. We would like to invite you for dinner on the day you present your paper.

Location

The Department of Economics at the University of Alicante is located on the campus of San Vicente (building 31 on the map). The campus is well connected to Alicante downtown and other localities by bus.

How to arrive

By car: There is a parking lot just in front of the Economics building.
By train: >From Alicante railway station, take bus 24, suburban train C-3 together with free Uni@BUS, or a taxi.
By plain: The easiest way to get from Alicante Airport to the University is by taxi (the ride costs about 25€). Bus C-6 and private shuttles connect the airport with Alicante downtown. >From downtown, take bus 24 or a taxi.
